As we all know that breast milk is the blessing of Allah for a newborn. Islamic teachings strongly recommend breastfeeding for first 2 years of life. Breast milk provides all nutritional needs of new born for growth & good health. It provides hundreds to thousands of distinct bio-active molecules that protect against infection and contribute to immune maturation and healthy microbial colonization. Breast milk contains antibodies that help the baby fight off viruses & bacteria. Breast milk lowers the baby risk of having asthma, allergies, respiratory infections and diarrhea. So it’s extremely important for mothers to understand the importance of breastfeeding and every effort should be made to make it available for the newborn. God bless you.
